Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Compliance & Payroll Specialist to manage and ensure full adherence to labor laws and statutory regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing compliance processes, handling employee grievances, maintaining records, and overseeing payroll processing. This role requires strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements, and effective grievance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Labor Law & Statutory Compliance:
Ensure that the organization is in compliance with all relevant labor laws, including but not limited to the Industrial Disputes Act, Factories Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, and others.
- Stay updated with the latest legal developments and ensure timely compliance with regulatory changes.
Liaise with government bodies, auditors, and legal authorities to ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
Grievance Handling:
Act as a point of contact for employees to address grievances related to workplace issues.
- Investigate and resolve grievances, taking appropriate actions as per company policies and labor laws.
Maintain proper documentation of grievances and their resolution for future reference and audits.
Compliance Register Maintenance:
Maintain and update statutory compliance registers, records, and documents related to employee welfare and labor laws.
- Ensure all necessary records are available for internal and external audits.
Oversee the filing of statutory returns in a timely and accurate manner.
Attendance Management:
Oversee the attendance management system to ensure accurate tracking of employee attendance.
- Resolve any discrepancies in attendance records and ensure compliance with company policies regarding leaves and working hours.
Prepare monthly attendance reports for payroll processing.
Contract Labour Management:
Manage contracts for external labor and ensure all relevant compliance measures are in place.
- Oversee the hiring and management of contract laborers and ensure adherence to applicable labor laws.
Review and negotiate labor contracts to ensure they align with legal requirements.
Payroll Processing:
Coordinate and oversee end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.
- Ensure deductions, bonuses, and other payroll elements are in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
Address employee queries related to payroll and benefits in a timely manner.
Recruitment Management:
Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws and internal policies.
- Assist in job postings, interviewing candidates, and preparing offer letters and employment contracts.
- Collaborate with the HR team to onboard new hires and ensure that all legal and compliance requirements are met during the hiring process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Law, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in HR compliance, statutory compliance, payroll, and grievance handling.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and statutory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HRMS and payroll software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Desired Skills:
- Certification in Labor Laws or HR Compliance.
- Familiarity with the local labor laws and regulations.
- Experience in managing contract labor.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
