Drafter

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate PEB structural drawings, including steel members, connections, roof systems, and wall cladding layouts.
• Develop shop drawings, erection drawings, and 3D models for pre-engineered buildings in line with project requirements.
• Interpret and apply drafting standards, specifications, and applicable codes; incorporate revisions as needed.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients through clear and professional English communication.
• Support design optimization to improve efficiency, constructability, and accuracy.
• Review and integrate vendor and manufacturer details where required.
• Maintain accuracy, version control, and quality across all deliverables.
• Ensure drawings comply with North American steel construction codes and standards (asset).
• Support bid preparation and pricing strategies in line with company objectives.
• Assist in developing take-offs, quantity estimates, and material lists.
• Ensure all work adheres to steel construction industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in PEB drafting/detailing, with emphasis on structural steel members and connection details.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, MBS, and SketchUp (knowledge of multiple tools is a strong asset).
• Strong knowledge of structural steel drafting practices and 3D modeling.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken) for effective communication with clients and team members.
• Familiarity with North American building codes and standards (preferred asset).
• Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and mechanical drawings.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Degree/diploma in Civil, Structural, or related engineering discipline preferred.
