Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager with strong expertise in product safety, quality assurance systems, and technical compliance for plush / soft toy manufacturing. The role involves leading end-to-end quality processes, ensuring all products meet international safety requirements, buyer specifications, and regulatory standards such as EN71, ASTM, and internal quality controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain factory-wide Quality Management Systems (QMS), SOPs, and inspection standards.
  • Ensure compliance with product safety and technical standards such as EN71, ASTM F963, REACH, CPSIA, ISO, and buyer-specific testing protocols.
  • Lead product development reviews, risk assessments, and sample approvals to ensure quality and compliance at each stage.
  • Manage supplier quality, incoming raw material quality checks, in-process QC, final inspection, and packaging quality standards.
  • Coordinate lab testing requirements with accredited laboratories; review and maintain testing reports and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA) for defects, failures, or customer complaints.
  • Work closely with Production, Design/Development, Sourcing, and Merchandising teams to ensure quality integration from design to shipment.
  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, compliance technical files, and buyer-required audit documentation.
  • Train QC staff and factory teams on inspection methods, product safety risks, handling, and technical compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers, third-party laboratories, and auditors for product testing, certification, and quality-related approvals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Textile, Industrial Production, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years hands-on experience in quality management within plush toys, soft toys, or garment manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of toy safety standards (EN71, ASTM F963, CPSIA, REACH, Azo, Phthalates, etc.).
  • Experience working with third-party testing labs (e.g., SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, TUV).
  • Familiarity with buyer quality systems (Walmart, Target, Disney ILS, Carrefour, etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, team management, and problem-solving skills.
