Job Description – Project Director (Software Development)

MAGTECH Security Systems Private Limited is building an advanced in-house software division to develop proprietary, integrated solutions for our security and entrance automation product portfolio. This includes ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition), UVSS (Under Vehicle Scanning Systems), X-ray baggage scanners, DFMDs, explosive detectors, and access-control automation systems. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Project Director – Software Development to lead this initiative, establish a new development center, and build a world-class software engineering team. This leadership role will own strategy, architecture, execution, and delivery of all software platforms to ensure seamless integration with MAGTECH's hardware ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead MAGTECH's in-house software development division from the ground up.

• Build, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary team of software developers, testers, application engineers, UI/UX designers, and software QC engineers.

• Define and execute the overall software architecture, technology stack, and system integration strategies.

• Develop proprietary platforms for ANPR, UVSS, X-ray baggage scanners, DFMDs, EVDs, and access-control automation systems.

• Ensure interoperability between hardware products (cameras, sensors, motors, PLCs, hydraulics) and software platforms.

• Oversee full-stack development (backend APIs, databases, frontend dashboards, mobile apps, cloud integration).

• Drive IP ownership by ensuring that all codebases and solutions are developed and secured in-house.

• Create roadmaps, allocate budgets, and deliver projects within defined timelines and milestones.

• Implement agile methodologies, sprint planning, and milestone-driven project management practices.

• Collaborate with R&D, design, and hardware teams for seamless hardware-software integration and prototyping.

• Ensure compliance with international standards (ISO 27001, CE, BCAS, TSA/ECAC, AERB) for software products.

• Implement robust cybersecurity protocols, secure coding practices, and lifecycle support systems.

• Introduce AI/ML capabilities for anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and smart automation features.

• Oversee deployment, support, and software lifecycle management for client projects and government tenders.

• Represent MAGTECH in client discussions, technical demonstrations, and audits related to software solutions.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong expertise in software architecture, full-stack development, and system integration.

• Hands-on experience in AI/ML (computer vision, anomaly detection, image processing) and IoT systems.

• Proficiency in backend frameworks (FastAPI, Django, ) and frontend technologies (ReactJS, Angular, Flutter).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and real-time data streaming technologies.

• Experience with cybersecurity standards, secure coding practices, and encryption protocols.

• Proven track record of managing cross-functional software teams in large-scale industrial or security projects.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills to align teams with organisational goals.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, ECE, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).

• 15+ years of professional software development experience, with 7+ years in senior leadership roles.

• Experience in building and scaling software teams from scratch.

• Background in industrial automation, security technologies, or Government/ Defense software projects is highly desirable.

• Proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade, tender-compliant software solutions.
