Lab Assistant – School

The Lab Assistant will support daily laboratory operations by preparing materials for practical classes, assisting students and teachers during experiments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and organized laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting experiments, tests, and demonstrations as per school laboratory protocols.
  • Prepare, arrange, and label materials, specimens, and chemicals for practical classes.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Record, analyze, and document data or inventory logs accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and school guidelines.
  • Support inventory management of lab supplies and materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory.
  • Assist teachers during practical sessions and guide students on lab safety.
  • Dispose of waste materials following proper laboratory safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in any science discipline OR Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Prior experience as a Lab Assistant or in a school/college laboratory role is preferred.
  • Experienced lab assistants with a Bachelor's degree will also be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good understanding of basic laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to assist students and follow instructions from teachers.
  • Proficiency in handling lab instruments and basic computer applications.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18, ₹25,000.00 per month
