Job Title: Sales Manager Generic Division (Pan India)

Location: Mumbai, India

The Sales Manager Generic Division will be responsible for leading and managing the sales operations across India for the companys generic pharmaceutical portfolio. This role involves strategic planning, sales forecasting, team management, distributor/channel partner management, and achieving revenue and growth targets in line with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement the annual sales strategy for the Generic Division across Pan India.
  • Set and monitor sales targets for regional managers and field teams.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities, competitive activities, and emerging trends.

2. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team .
  • Conduct regular training sessions on product knowledge, selling skills, and compliance.
  • Ensure effective territory management and coverage.

3. Business Development

  • Identify and onboard new distributors, stockists, and channel partners across India.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers, trade partners, and institutional buyers.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams for product promotions, campaigns, and launches.

4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track sales performance against targets and take corrective actions when required.
  • Prepare and present monthly/quarterly business review reports to senior management.
  • Monitor receivables, credit limits, and ensure timely collections.

5. Compliance & Ethical Practices

  • Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Maintain high ethical standards in all business dealings.

Key Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Science, or Commerce; MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred.
  • Experience:

  • 8–12 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.

  • Proven track record of handling generic pharmaceuticals in Pan India markets.

  • Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in sales analytics, MS Office, and CRM tools.
  • Strong understanding of Indian pharmaceutical market dynamics, distribution channels, and regulatory framework.
