Mitsubishi Corporation is currently seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the head chef and culinary team in various tasks related to food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the head chef in executing recipes and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. Responsibilities:
  1. Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, cutting, and measuring, as directed by the head chef. Ensure that all ingredients are prepared in accordance with the recipes and quality standards.
  2. Cooking: Help in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions provided by the head chef. This includes sautéing, grilling, baking, frying, and other cooking techniques.
  3. Food Presentation: Contribute to the attractive presentation of dishes by arranging and garnishing food items on plates or platters. Pay attention to detail to maintain high standards of visual appeal.
  4. Menu Development: Collaborate with the head chef in developing and refining menu items. Provide input on new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques based on industry trends and customer preferences.
  5. Kitchen Organization: Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  6. Inventory Management: Help monitor and manage kitchen inventory, including ingredients, supplies, and equipment. Notify the head chef of any shortages or items that need replenishment.
  7. Quality Control: Assist in quality control measures, such as tasting and inspecting food items to ensure they meet the established standards of taste, texture, and presentation.
  8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the culinary team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, to coordinate food preparation and service efficiently. Foster a positive and respectful work environment.
  9. Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to proper food handling and safety procedures to minimize the risk of contamination or food borne illnesses. Follow health and safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness standards at all times.

Requirements:
  • Previous culinary experience in a professional kitchen is preferred.
  • Expertise cooking in Continental cuisine, Chinese Cuisine and Japanese Cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Familiarity with various culinary tools and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
