Purpose-

The main function of the role is to lead controlling of After Sales India business segments (Parts, Accessory, Oil, Loyalty products and Tools) of five brands (VW, Skoda, Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini) and to steer their full financials and profitability.

  1. To provide the financial leadership in recommending, developing and implementing policies and programs and become an enabler for improving the After Sales profitability and liquidity situation of the brands.

  2. To lead the budgeting and forecasting efforts of brands and ensuring financial controls are in place and are followed, maintaining data integrity.

  3. To oversee manufacturing costs of local plant for in-house developed spares parts and accessories.

  4. To be an internal business consultant for providing analytical support for business optimization initiatives and steering costs within the limits of the targets given by headquarters. Authority:

  • Signature on Online Shopping Carts on behalf of Sales Controlling
  • Approval on pricing and other financial commitments
  • Financial validation of business cases / dealer settlement cases (e.g. Warehouse, training Academy)
  • Approvals on schemes for dealer bonus, tactical, marketing and pricing

Key Responsibilities &Tasks:

  1. Planning & Budgeting and Management reporting

i. To ensure sustainable long term financial planning (PR) of the division considering key business inputs, Brands and Group presumptions in order to meet strategic business objectives

ii. To prepare detailed monthly Budget for the five Brands in line with long term financial plan after consultation with head of After Sales

iii. To ensure accurate monthly rolling forecast for the Brands considering key inputs, actual results, and current business, economic and financial situation

iv. Analysis and presentation of monthly financial review, inventory reports, deviation charts for Actual and Forecast with detailed explanations, cash flow statement and net liquidity of the after sales business ; Alignment of monthly results and forecast submissions with business and controlling counterparts in Brand Headquarters

v. Provide ongoing analysis and insights of business results/drivers and communication to senior finance and business leaders

vi. Financial review presentation of Brand Performance to local management, Brand Headquarters and for Group boardmeetings

  1. Product costing, pricing and gross margin Analysis After-Sales business

i. To review and analyze the material costs and conversion costs of in-house manufactured spares parts

ii. To identify and calculate all the relevant costs for the full value chain of Accessories business (Procure to Sales) and incorporate in product pricing

iii. Toreviewandapprovepricingfor spares parts, accessories and oilpricinginordertoensurethatcorrecttransferpricesare incorporated as per agreed margins and retail prices based on planned marketprice for different types (Local/imported/directdelivery) for all five brands

iv. To provide input on local tax regulation / any changes impacting spares parts, accessories and oilpricing

3. Cost Control and monitoring

i. To drive cost reduction projects inside the organization for boosting profitability for example in areas related to logistics

ii. Tobringbettercostandbudgetarycontrols,controllingfinancialcommitmentsthroughstrict approval process (Shopping Cartsapprovals)

iii. Financial and cost review meeting based on actual / budgets / commitments with head of division / departments, to identify measure and monitoring of actions to control cost and to improve profitability and liquiditysituation

iv. Deep dive into HPG wise profitability for spares parts division to gauge and identify customer retention trends

v. Establishinginternalcontrolsintheorganizationthroughimplementationofrobustbusiness processes

vi. Ensuring proper Warranty accounting, actual vs provision, warranty reserves analysis and coordination with Warranty team for cost monitoring and control as per five Brands guidelines

  1. Cost Control and monitoring

i. To drive cost reduction projects by identifying Key Value Drivers of Business in the area of Logistics (Sales & After Sales), Marketing, Warranty, Dealer bonus & tactical, After Sales localization

ii. To establish best practices (business and financial) among all brands by leveraging knowledge for all brands

iii. To bring better cost and budgetary controls, controlling financial commitments through strict approval process (Shopping Carts approvals)

iv. Financial and cost review meeting based on actual / budgets / commitments with head of division / departments, to identify measure and monitoring of actions to control cost and to improve profitability and liquidity situation

v. Establishing internal controls in the organization through implementation of robust business processes

  1. Business cases analysis, financial review of contracts and agreement

i. Financial evaluation of business cases for new projects

ii. Review of contracts/ agreements from a financial perspective

  1. Finance Projects

i. Implementation / maintaining / monitoring changes into financial systems

ii. Support development & end to end process requirement of systems having interface with finance systems

iii. Evaluation of peripheral systems from a financial perspective to ensure that correct processes are followed and accounting / audit trail is possible

iv. Lead in automation of business analysis processes through implementation of Business Analytics tool and software thereby streamlining and improving the finance reporting and tools supporting the leadership team and assisting them in effective decision-making

  1. Business Support and cross functional responsibilities

i. Guiding team members for effectively partnering with Business and acting as an internal consultant to propose and implement innovative profitable ideas

ii. Review for preparation and tracking claims of supports from Brand Head-quarters

iii. Oversee dealer bonus settlements related to volume bonus, campaign payouts etc.

iv. Review on provisions for expenses to accounting department based on actual spends, open financial commitments and inputs from head of departments

v. Ensuring timelines for December and March Financial audit

vi. Project management for financial topics (e.g. Cost saving projects)

vii. Business related information and Input to tax department for transfer pricing study /audits

viii. Financial evaluation of new business challenges related to changes in internal and external environment so as to enable the brand to be aware on the risks and opportunities and take a more informed decision
