Position Overview

The Deputy Manager / Manager – Human Resources will play a key role in managing end-to-end HR operations with a strong focus on
Payroll Management, Statutory Compliance, Performance Management System (PMS)
, and
Employee Engagement
. The role demands a hands-on HR professional with sound knowledge of HR processes and compliance, particularly within the
manufacturing sector
.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payroll Management

  • Process end-to-end payroll ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to statutory norms.
  • Coordinate with finance and plant HR teams for monthly payroll inputs and reconciliations.
  • Manage taxation, reimbursements, arrears, full & final settlements, and other payroll-related activities.
  • Maintain payroll records and generate reports as required for management and audits.

2. Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory obligations (PF, ESI, LWF, Bonus, Gratuity, etc.).
  • Liaise with government departments, auditors, and consultants for timely submissions and inspections.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of legal amendments and implement necessary process changes.

3. Performance Management System (PMS)

  • Facilitate KPI discussions and finalization for each half-yearly (HY) review cycle.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure KPI alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support performance evaluation, review discussions, and documentation of performance outcomes.
  • Track completion of PMS timelines and generate performance reports for management review.

4. HR Operations & Employee Engagement

  • Drive core HR operational processes such as onboarding, confirmation, transfers, exits, and HR documentation.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Monitor HR metrics such as attrition, absenteeism, and engagement levels; provide insights for improvement.
  • Support internal HR projects and digital HR initiatives for process efficiency.

  • Proficient in HRMS / ERP systems, MS Excel, and data analytics for HR reporting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High sense of ownership, integrity, and attention to detail.
