Role & responsibilities

  • Oversee risk management related to treasury functions including cash management, liquidity risk, funding, and capital management.
  • Monitor and manage market risks (interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, credit risk) within treasury and investment portfolios.
  • Develop and implement risk frameworks, policies, and controls aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis for treasury and investment exposures.
  • Collaborate with treasury, finance, and investment teams to identify emerging risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for senior management and board committees.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk limits and external regulatory standards related to treasury and investments.
  • Support investment decision-making by providing risk insights and conducting due diligence on investment products.
  • Lead or support internal and external audits related to treasury and investment risk management.

Keep abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and developments in risk management practices.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Background:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (CFA, FRM, CAIA) is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in treasury risk management, investment risk, asset management, or related financial risk roles.
  • Experience in liquidity risk, interest rate risk, credit risk, and market risk management within treasury and investment portfolios.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Basel III, IFRS 9, or similar treasury and investment regulations.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in risk modeling, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
  • Proficiency with risk management systems, treasury management systems (TMS), and financial modeling tools.
  • Good command of Excel, VBA, Python, or other analytical software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments such as bonds, derivatives, FX, money market instruments, and alternative investments.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
