Duties

• You will serve as the senior technical authority to the Installation Commanding Officer and Regional Fire Chief for developing shore and long range and emergency services goals.
• You will develop program in the area of fire protection and prevention for implementation by fire department.
• You will conduct periodic review of the program to ensure itis operating effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Managing, planning or making short or long-range forecasts for issues related to fire to meet technological requirements; 2) Providing assistance, advice, and recommendations concerning fire protection/prevention; and 3) Reviewing reports and procedures to make suggestions on improvements to firefighting techniques and /or policies.

This position requires possession of the following certifications: 1) Firefighter I and II, 2) Hazmat Awareness, 3)Hazmat Operations, 4) Hazmat Incident Commander, 5) Driver Operator/Pumper, 6) Fire Officer I, II, III, 7) Fire Inspector I and II, 8) Fire Instructor I and II. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. NOTE: If you do not possess all of the above certifications, and provide verification with your application, you will be rated ineligible. EMT State or NREMT.
