Job Description:
1. Procurement Operations

  • Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, excipients, APIs, packaging materials, and consumables as per production plans.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers and identify potential new vendors.

  • Ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid stockouts or production delays.

  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and compliance.

  • Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) in ERP/SAP systems.

2. Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management

  • Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Negotiate long-term contracts and rate agreements with suppliers.

  • Monitor price trends, market conditions, and alternate sourcing options.

3. Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams to qualify new suppliers and manage supplier audits.

  • Maintain procurement documentation for regulatory inspections.

4. Coordination & Cross-Functional Support

  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA, and Finance for material forecasting, approvals, and payments.

  • Support new product launches and technology transfers by sourcing new materials.

  • Handle import/export documentation and coordination with customs & logistics partners (if applicable).

5. Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain procurement KPIs (cost savings, lead time, supplier OTIF, etc.).

  • Prepare monthly procurement reports and inventory analysis.

  • Continuously improve procurement processes and implement digital tools where feasible.
