About the AI Team and the Role

As an Agentic AI Research Intern at Origin Medical Research Lab, you'll work closely with research engineers, AI scientists, clinicians, and leading medical institutions to build the next generation of deep learning algorithms for automated fetal ultrasound assessment, while also automating clinical workflows and integrating Agentic AI into practice management solutions. You'll also get to design, prototype, and test autonomous agent solutions that streamline medical workflows and processes, using modern frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph. This internship offers a truly hands-on and one-of-a-kind research experience, giving you the chance to explore new ideas, run experiments, and learn from industry experts who will help you turn your research into real-world impact in healthcare.

What will you do?

• Agentic workflow development:

Prototype intelligent workflows that integrate LLMs, APIs, databases, and external healthcare tools to address practice management use cases.
- AI automation design:

Design and implement multi-step AI automation chains (e.g., checklists, task routing, decision-support bots) to enhance efficiency and decision-making.
- System integration and experimentation:

Collaborate on data integration, system observability, and iterative proof-of-concept (POC) development to refine and scale solutions.
- Technical documentation and communication:

Maintain clear technical documentation and present work effectively through GitHub, Notion, or a professional portfolio.

Who are we looking for?

• Passionate about building the next generation of intelligent healthcare solutions that transform clinical workflows and improve patient outcomes worldwide.
• Over 1 year of hands-on experience working with agent frameworks and multi-agent systems through research projects or internships.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain and LangGraph for developing and integrating intelligent agentic workflows.
• Proficient in Python programming, with strong skills in API integration, pipeline automation, and developing scalable AI-driven systems.
• Experienced in contributing to open-source projects, participating in hackathons, or creating published demos showcasing workflow automation.
• Healthcare or process automation domain experience is a strong plus.
• An analytical and curious thinker with a creative mindset, eager to learn, collaborate, and turn innovative ideas into real-world impact.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly in both written and spoken English.
• Previous experience in early-stage startups or fast-paced research environments is an advantage.
