Job Description – Quality Control Engineer

Location: Neelambur

Industry Preference: Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Foundry / Die Casting

Experience: 2+ Years

Educational Qualification: DME (Diploma in Mechanical Engineering) / B.E. Mechanical Engineering

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Quality Control Engineer to ensure that all die-cast and machined components meet the required quality standards. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in quality inspection within a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry environment, preferably in die casting operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process, incoming, and final inspection of die-cast components.
  • Monitor and maintain quality parameters throughout the production process.
  • Perform dimensional checks using instruments like Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and CMM.
  • Identify defects in casting (e.g., porosity, shrinkage, cracks, surface defects) and report them for corrective action.
  • Maintain and update QC documentation such as inspection reports, control plans, and rejection analysis.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Implement quality standards such as ISO, TS, or customer-specific requirements.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols within the QC department.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous casting processes.
  • Knowledge of die-casting defects and troubleshooting methods.
  • Proficiency in measuring instruments and basic metrology.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
