Job Title: Quality Controller

Location: Dr. Aravind's IVF Center

Department: Quality Assurance / Laboratory

Reporting to: Lab Director / Medical Director

Job Summary:

The Quality Controller at Dr. Aravind's IVF Center is responsible for ensuring all laboratory and clinical procedures comply with established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). This role involves monitoring, auditing, documenting, and improving quality processes to achieve optimal clinical outcomes and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:Quality Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control protocols for embryology, andrology, and clinical processes.
  • Monitor and record laboratory parameters (temperature, gas levels, pH, equipment calibration, etc.).
  • Perform routine quality control checks of incubators, laminar flow hoods, centrifuges, and other critical equipment.
  • Ensure traceability and proper documentation of all procedures.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with ICMR, NABH, ISO, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare for and assist during audits and inspections.
  • Keep meticulous records of non-conformances and initiate corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

Training & Coordination:

  • Train laboratory and clinical staff on quality control measures and protocols.
  • Coordinate with embryologists, clinicians, nurses, and admin staff for integrated quality compliance.
  • Monitor sample tracking, patient identification protocols, and cross-verification procedures.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement and workflow optimization.
  • Analyze KPI data (fertilization rates, pregnancy rates, embryo development, etc.) to ensure benchmarks are met.
  • Conduct internal audits and report findings with recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Clinical Lab Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in an IVF lab or clinical quality assurance role.
  • Strong understanding of ART processes, IVF lab practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Attention to detail with excellent documentation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and laboratory management software (LIMS preferred).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
