Job Description: Head of Sales

Position: Head of Sales | Department: Sales & Marketing | Location: Chennai (40-50% travel)
Reports To: MD/CEO | Employment: Full-time, Permanent | CTC: ₹35-45 Lakhs + performance incentives ​

Position Purpose

Lead Starizo's commercial expansion across domestic and export markets (Food, Pharma, Nutraceutical, Cosmetics sectors). Drive ₹250+ crores combined revenue over 3 years while maintaining ≥20% EBITDA margins and building a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute integrated domestic/international sales strategy. Identify growth opportunities across sectors and geographies. Lead pricing, go-to-market strategy, and channel development.

Revenue & Market Development: Achieve annual targets (FY26-27: ₹65-80 Cr | FY27-28: ₹ Cr | FY28-29: ₹ Cr). Expand to 15+ countries and Pan-India coverage. Build partnerships with 200+ customers. ​

Commercial Operations: Manage full sales cycle, trade spends, credit policies, and channel profitability. Ensure 100% compliance with FSSAI, EXIM, FDA, EU, Halal, and Kosher regulations.

Team Leadership: Build and lead professionals across regions. Mentor Regional/Export Managers. Foster data-driven, results-oriented culture.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Production, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, and Finance. Provide market insights for product innovation. Align forecasts with production and logistics.

Performance Management: Own sales dashboards, KPIs, and quarterly business reviews. Track pipeline, margins, CSAT (≥85%), and team metrics using Power BI/CRM.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: MBA/PGDM in Sales/Marketing/International Business (required) | B. Tech/B.Sc. in Food Technology/Biochemistry (preferred) ​

Experience: 15-20 years in B2B ingredient/specialty chemicals sales | Minimum 5 years in senior leadership managing national and export operations | Track record in FMCG, Food Ingredients, Nutraceuticals, or Specialty Chemicals ​

Key Competencies: Strategic sales planning & execution | ERP/CRM systems | Financial acumen & pricing strategy | Cross-functional collaboration | 40-50% travel readiness ​
