The Executive – Import Customs Clearance & Documentation is responsible for managing the entire import documentation and customs clearance process. This role ensures compliance with government regulations, minimizes delays, and coordinates with stakeholders for the smooth handling of imported goods.

Roles and responsibilities

· Customs Clearance & Compliance

Handle end-to-end customs clearance procedures for imported goods

Liaising with CHA for Checklist Approval

Prepare and submit Bill of Entry (BoE), Import General Manifest (IGM), and other customs-related documents

Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and clearing agents for smooth clearance

Stay updated on duty structures, exemptions, and government policies

· Import Documents

Prepare and verify import-related documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, Bills of Lading (BL), airway bills, and insurance documents

Coordinate with Finance, banks requirement after post Clearance (IDPMS issues / Revised HAWB. ETC), and logistics teams to ensure timely document submission

· Co-ordination and communication

Work closely with shipping lines, Freight Forwarders, Transporter and warehouse team to track shipment.

Resolved discrepancies in documents and co-ordinate with relevant stakeholders.

Ensure timely filing and storage/demurrage of import records for audit and future reference.

Co-ordination with ICD team for FCL container deployment.

· Process Optimization & Reporting:

Generate MIS reports on import status, clearance timelines, and duty payments.

Implement best practices for faster clearance and reduced demurrage costs

MEIS/EPCG /Marine Insurance

Skills & Qualifications: -

Education: PGDM / Any graduate / MBA

Experience:- 2-3 Years in Import and export customs clearance, shipping or International trade

Knowledge of:-

Customs Rules, HS code, Import duties, and Incoterm

SAP, Lotus System, Import Policies

DGFT, BIS, SIMS, PIMS, NFMIMS, E-way bill , Ice gate.

Skills: -

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
