Position Summary
The Sales Executive will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the freight forwarding and logistics sector in and around Vadodara. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and results-driven professional with a strong understanding of international logistics, including sea freight and air freight. They will be the face of the company, building strong, long-term relationships with clients and ensuring their logistics needs are met with excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales: Proactively identify and acquire new clients through lead generation, cold calling, market research, and networking.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with new and existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Solution Selling: Understand client logistics requirements and provide tailored, cost-effective solutions for their import, export, and domestic shipping needs.
- Quotation & Negotiation: Prepare and present competitive quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions in Vadodara and the wider Gujarat region.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve any issues promptly.
- Reporting: Maintain an accurate sales pipeline in a CRM system and provide regular reports on sales activities, performance, and forecasts to management.
- Documentation: Ensure all sales-related documentation and contracts are accurate and complete.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in a sales role within the freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics industry is essential.
- Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of international freight forwarding processes, including Incoterms, customs clearance, sea freight (FCL/LCL), and air freight.
- Sales Acumen: A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Gujarati are highly preferred to effectively interact with local clients.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities to secure profitable deals.
- Personal Attributes: Must be self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a target-driven environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
- Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the industrial and business landscape of Vadodara and its surrounding areas is a significant advantage.
