Position Overview

CTA Apparels is seeking a visionary and dynamic
Vice President – Merchandising & Business Development
to spearhead global buyer relationships, drive strategic growth initiatives, and lead the merchandising function at scale. This pivotal role requires a strong combination of commercial acumen, international exposure, and operational excellence.

As a key member of the leadership team, the VP will be responsible for building long-term partnerships with international fashion retailers, expanding CTA's global footprint, and ensuring excellence in execution across merchandising and product development.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Business Growth

• Define and implement merchandising and business development strategies aligned with CTA's growth vision.
• Expand buyer portfolio across EU, UK, and US markets, identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
• Negotiate long-term commercial agreements and strengthen CTA's positioning as a preferred global vendor.

Buyer Relationship Management

• Serve as the senior-most liaison for global fashion brands; ensure buyer satisfaction through strategic engagement, trust-building, and high service standards.
• Oversee seasonal reviews, business planning, and performance evaluations with international clients.
• Anticipate buyer trends and proactively align CTA's capabilities with evolving fashion retail requirements.

Merchandising & Product Development Excellence

• Provide strategic direction to design, sampling, and merchandising teams to deliver trend-right, cost-competitive products.
• Lead high-value negotiations on costing, sourcing, and capacity planning.
• Ensure seamless execution of orders with end-to-end visibility, risk mitigation, and on-time delivery assurance.

Team Building & Mentorship

• Lead and inspire a large team of senior managers, merchandisers, and coordinators.
• Build talent pipelines and mentor future leaders within the organization.
• Foster a performance-driven, collaborative, and innovative work culture.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with production, IE, QA, planning, and sustainability teams to ensure operational excellence.
• Champion technology-driven solutions for efficiency, transparency, and scalability.
• Align merchandising practices with CTA's sustainability and compliance commitments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Fashion Technology, Apparel Merchandising, International Business, or related fields.
• 18–20+ years of relevant experience, including 8–10 years in a senior leadership capacity.
• Strong track record in managing global buyer accounts and driving new business development.
• Expertise in woven and knit categories across men's, women's, and kidswear.
• Deep knowledge of international compliance, quality standards, and fashion business dynamics.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Strong global network and ability to influence C-level buyer stakeholders.
