Director of Sales Engineering
to build and lead our global Sales Engineering team.
Role Overview
You will own the technical pre-sales motion for Hevo. This is a highly strategic role where you will partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to accelerate revenue growth. Your team will be the trusted advisors for prospects, translating their business problems into data solutions using Hevo's platform.
This is an opportunity to
build the Sales Engineering function from the ground up
, shaping playbooks, hiring and mentoring SEs, and setting the bar for technical excellence in every customer conversation.
What You'll Do
- Lead & Scale the SE Team
– Hire, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Sales Engineers; establish onboarding, enablement, and career paths. - Drive Technical Win Rates
– Own POCs, demos, and technical validation processes to improve win rates and shorten sales cycles. - Be the Technical Face of Hevo
– Represent Hevo in key prospect meetings, webinars, and industry events. - Build Repeatable Playbooks
– Create demo libraries, solution architecture templates, objection-handling guides, and POC frameworks. - Act as Customer Voice
– Work with Product and Marketing to bring back market insights and influence roadmap & GTM messaging. - Measure & Optimize
– Define metrics for SE productivity, POC success, and AE-SE alignment. Continuously refine processes for scale.
What We're Looking For
- Experience:
10+ years in Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, or related pre-sales roles, with at least 3+ years leading SE teams. - Domain Expertise:
Strong knowledge of modern data stack – ELT/ETL, cloud warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), APIs, and data pipelines. - Leadership:
Proven track record of building, scaling, and mentoring SE teams in fast-growing B2B SaaS companies. - Commercial Acumen:
Deep understanding of SaaS sales cycles and ability to partner with AEs to close complex deals. - Communication:
Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts in simple, business-friendly language. - Builder Mindset:
Comfortable creating processes, playbooks, and metrics from scratch in a high-growth environment.
