Job Title: SolidWorks Designer (Sheet Metal Industry)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SolidWorks Designer to join our team in the sheet metal industry. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and detailing sheet metal products such as electric panels, server racks, control panels, and other enclosures. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SolidWorks, sheet metal design principles, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and create 3D models, detailed drawings, and assembly designs using SolidWorks.

Design sheet metal products like electric panels, server racks, and control panels ensuring functionality and manufacturability.

Create accurate bill of materials (BOM) and technical documentation.

Perform design calculations and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for precise manufacturing.

Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure the design feasibility.

Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and production efficiency.

Conduct design reviews and implement feedback.

Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during production.

Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

2+ years of experience in SolidWorks design, preferably in the sheet metal industry.

Proficiency in SolidWorks Sheet Metal Module and other CAD software.

Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes like bending, welding, laser cutting, and punching.

Knowledge of material selection for sheet metal components.

Familiarity with industry standards like IEC, NEMA, or IP ratings.

Good understanding of electrical panel design requirements.

Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in designing server racks, electrical enclosures, or control panels.

Knowledge of ERP and PLM systems.

Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
