Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems in production machinery, including extruders, injection/blow molding units, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance activities on gearboxes, pumps, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to reduce downtime.
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to minimize production loss.
  • Assist in minor electrical and control system troubleshooting (motors, panels, switches, wiring, PLC-based machines) as required.
  • Monitor mechanical performance of machines and ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with stores for procurement and proper use of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and report critical mechanical issues to supervisors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols during all maintenance activities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, or related trade.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in plant maintenance within manufacturing industries, preferably plastics, polymers, or packaging.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills: gearboxes, pumps, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and general machine servicing.
  • Familiarity with machinery such as extruders, blow/injection molding machines, compressors, and plant utilities.
  • Basic electrical and PLC knowledge is a plus (motors, control panels, wiring, relays).
  • Skilled in using tools, gauges, and diagnostic instruments for mechanical fault detection.
  • Disciplined, hardworking, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to handle emergency breakdowns under pressure, including off-hour support.
  • Strong team coordination, good communication with supervisors and production staff.
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor with heavy machinery.
  • Basic documentation and reporting skills preferred.
