Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Ranchi for a Project Manager. The Project Manager will oversee planning and execution of the projects, ensuring timely deliverables and meeting quality standards. Responsibilities include coordinating project activities, managing logistics and resources, conducting inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements, and mitigating risks. The role also involves engaging with stakeholders, reporting on project progress, and ensuring alignment with B2V's mission and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Project Execution & Management
- Time-Bounded Implementation:
Ensure all project activities, milestones, and deliverables are completed on schedule, within scope, and adhere to quality standards as defined in the Project Document and Annual Work Plans. - Operational Planning:
Develop detailed, month-by-month and quarterly operational plans for all project components. - Risk Management:
Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate potential project risks and report on them to senior management. - Resource Management:
Manage and monitor the efficient utilization of all project resources, including materials, equipment, and budget.
B. Team & Human Resources
- Hiring Field Level Employees:
Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of dedicated field staff (e.g., Field Coordinators, Community Mobilizers) necessary for effective project implementation. - Team Leadership & Mentoring:
Provide strong leadership, coaching, and performance management to the project team, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented, and ethical work environment. - Capacity Building:
Organize and facilitate regular training programs for field staff and community volunteers to enhance their technical knowledge in climate-smart practices, sustainable livelihood and community engagement.
C. Financial Management & Compliance
- Budget Oversight:
Manage and monitor the project budget, ensuring expenditures are authorized, documented, and align strictly with the approved budget lines. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports, expenditure statements, and fund utilization certificates as required by the organization and donors. - Compliance:
Ensure all project activities and procurement processes comply with B2V's organizational policies, donor requirements, and local/national laws.
D. Monitoring, Evaluation, & Reporting (MER)
- M&E Framework Implementation:
Oversee the collection of accurate, timely, and high-quality data in line with the project's Monitoring & Evaluation framework. - Impact Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive periodic progress reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) detailing achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and progress against performance indicators (KPIs). - Case Study Development:
Document successful interventions, best practices, and compelling stories of change to contribute to organizational learning and communications.
E. Stakeholder & External Relations
- Liaison:
Serve as the primary point of contact for local government bodies, partner NGOs, donor representatives, and community leaders within the project area. - Community Engagement:
Ensure meaningful participation of target communities in project planning and execution, promoting local ownership and sustainability of the interventions. - Knowledge Sharing:
Represent B2V at relevant forums, workshops, and meetings to share project experiences and build the organization's professional network.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
Master's degree in Rural Development, Social Science, Agriculture, NRM, or a related field. - Experience:
3-5 years of progressive experience in managing development projects, with at least 1 years directly related to Climate Resilient Agriculture & Livelihoods. - Skills:
Proven expertise in Project Cycle Management (PCM), financial management, team leadership, and proficiency in relevant project management tools/software. - Attributes:
Willingness to undertake extensive field travel, and a deep commitment to community-centric development.
