C. Primary Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Align engineering and project goals with the company's long-term solar manufacturing strategy.
  • Drive innovation and standardization in utilities design for global competitiveness.
  • Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders to support business development and growth.
  • Ensure governance, documentation, and compliance frameworks are institutionalized.
  • Position Vikram Solar as a leader in value-engineered, cost-optimized solar manufacturing facilities.
  • Create sustainable frameworks for continuous improvement and scalability in future expansions.


Financial 

  • Conduct value engineering to standardize designs and benchmark vendor BOQs, achieving significant capex savings .
  • Deliver and manage engineering scope with early startup through optimized schedules.
  •  Support project finance in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial feasibility.
  • Lead commercial discussions, bid evaluations, and vendor negotiations to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Drive contract management and ensure alignment with financial goals.


Process

  • Oversee complete engineering deliverables: DBR, P&ID, Layouts, Specifications, BoQs, vendor selection, and detailed engineering.
  • Ensure engineering & commissioning support for utilities: Clean Room HVAC , WTP, Ultrapure Water, PCW, Chemical Handling, Chiller Plant, Cooling Towers, Fire Protection, PEN/ETP with ZLD, Piping systems.
  • Conduct 3D model (Plant 3D) coordination, GFC approvals, and ensure clash-free plant layouts.
  • Maintain strict design compliance with ASME, NFPA, SEMI standards.
  • Implement SOPs, checklists, KRAs/KPIs for high-quality deliverables.
  • Enable schedule optimization for early project delivery and handover.


People 

  • Lead and mentor member engineering team, fostering technical excellence and accountability.
  • Define departmental KRAs/KPIs and align them with organizational objectives.
  • Develop training modules, skill mapping, and competency frameworks for the team.
  • Build a performance-driven culture with clear SOPs, governance, and accountability checks.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with O&M, Procurement, Construction, and Business Development teams.
