Role & responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bill of quantities (BOQs), rate analyses, and cost plans during the preconstruction stage.
  • Review contract documents: drawings, specifications, scopes of work; ensure clarity and completeness.
  • Develop budget forecasts and cash flow projections; update them as project progresses.
  • Analyze vendor/subcontractor quotations, negotiate rates, and assist in procurement.
  • Manage contracts and work orders, ensuring terms are favorable and adhered to.
  • Monitor project costs vs budget; identify cost overruns early and propose corrective measures.
  • Review & certify contractor / subcontractor bills, RA bills, variation orders.
  • Material reconciliation & measurement of works on site for accurate billing & payments.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Site Engineers, Procurement, and other teams for smooth execution.
  • Assist in risk identification & mitigation related to contractual / commercial aspects.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports & dashboards for management: cost reports, change orders, progress vs budget etc.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and company policies in all commercial / contractual work.

Preferred candidate profile

Typically 4 to 8+ years of relevant QS / contracts experience in residential / building construction projects
