We are looking for a highly organized, results-driven Project Manager with a proven track record in managing complex steel construction projects. The person will be responsible for the end-to-end management, planning, and successful execution of multiple steel structure projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Planning and Execution
- End-to-End Management: Own and manage the entire project lifecycle, from contract award and design finalization through procurement, fabrication, erection, and final handover.
- Scheduling and Monitoring: Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules (e.g., Gantt charts), ensuring all milestones, including design, drawing, material delivery, and erection, are met on time.
- Resource Allocation: Effectively manage and coordinate internal teams, sub-contractors, and vendors to ensure efficient deployment of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Quality Control (QC) & Safety: Implement and enforce rigorous quality assurance protocols and site safety standards across all project stages, ensuring compliance with specifications and industry regulations.
2. Technical and Commercial Oversight
- Design & Drawing Coordination: Liaise with the in-house design team, external consultants, and clients to finalize engineering drawings (GA, Fabrication, Erection) promptly and ensure all site work adheres strictly to approved designs.
- Budget Management: Monitor project expenditure, manage variations/scope changes, and ensure projects are delivered within the approved budget.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and consultants. Conduct regular progress meetings and provide timely, accurate project updates and reports.
3. Support to the Managing Director
- Strategic Task Execution: Work directly with the Managing Director to execute specific, high-priority administrative, strategic, or business development tasks that may extend beyond standard project management duties.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and analyses requested by the Managing Director for internal review or board/stakeholder communication.
- Coordination: Act as a central coordinator for critical inter-departmental initiatives and communications as delegated by the Managing Director.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5years of professional experience in project management within the construction industry.
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience managing large-scale Steel Structure projects (PEB, Space Frame Structures, Industrial Sheds, Roof Trusses, etc.) is preffered.
- Proven experience managing projects from an office-based role, involving significant coordination and occasional site visits.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes, quality standards, and relevant Indian/International codes. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Project Management Tools: Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (and Malayalam/regional language is beneficial) for client and site team interactions.
- Leadership & Problem-Solving: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, anticipate potential issues, and implement effective corrective actions under pressure.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously from the Head Office.
