Job Purpose: Lead - Safety

  • To Work on PSM Excellence implementation and needs identification to comply with PSM requirements.
  • Taking lead in Process Safety Management (PSM): Process Safety Information (PSI), Process Risk Assessment (PRA)/HAZOP, Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR)
  • Provide training to employees and assure understanding and compliance with Process Safety Management Standards and local process safety requirements
  • Assist plant in leading Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and PRA for major risk projects by providing expert support in PHA/PRA methodologies
  • Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) prior to startup of new or modified processes or equipment or after extended shutdown of equipment. Periodically review site PSSRs for quality and completeness.
  • Provide EHS support for the review and assessment of capital projects for PSM related requirements
  • Interpret the Process Safety Information (PSI) of the processes and prepare Hazard details of all raw materials used to educate the shop floor team
  • To assess the requirement and procurement of all PPE's required for the Site based on the hazards of the chemicals used
  • Actively participate in all the KAVACH implementation related initiatives at Site
  • Overall adherence to safe practices and procedures of oneself and the teams aligned
  • Drive implementation of best safety practices across the unit.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of work permit and other world class best practices.
  • Device better specific safety controls to minimize man/machine interference.
  • Contributing to development of procedures, practices and systems that ensures safe operations and compliance to company's integrity & quality standards
  • Review the awareness campaigns/initiatives and ensure increased awareness of employees on SHE policies & procedures on a continuous basis.
  • Review the progress and ensure accidents/incidents reduction and fire prevention.
  • Identify and develop control plans for hazards which exist at the site
  • Driving a corporate culture that promotes environment, health, and safety (EHS) mindset and operational discipline at the workplace at all times.
  • Investigate Incidents and take steps to prevent recurrence
  • Ensuring safety of self, teams and lab/plant by adhering to safety protocols and following environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace.
  • Ensure all assigned mandatory trainings related to data integrity, health, and safety measures are completed on time by all members of the team including self
  • Develop and devise implementation plans for health, safety & environmental training
  • Implementation of Behavioral based training for employees & contractor workmen
  • Compliance to Syngene' s quality & EHSS standards at all times
  • Responsible for implementation of standards of ISO  45001
  • Govern and Review safety metrics from time to time & accountable for the achievement of safety goals
  • Ensure to improve Competency of employees and assure understanding and compliance with Process Safety Management standards and local Process Safety Requirements.
  • Identification of Unsafe Act/ Condition, Incident/Accident/First aid and reporting in the Incident portal; supporting for Incident Investigation and escalating to the Site Management.
