Position: Assistant General Manager - Safety (ITEC) We are seeking an accomplished professional to lead the safety and risk management in ITEC. Safety Manager role should Implement, maintain and improve KONE ITEC safety management system (operating model) including KTI labs, Test tower and workplace. This role is out of ITEC Chennai but responsible for other ITEC units like Test tower, Pune along base location. Safety policy and objectives: - Set objectives, roles and responsibilities for safety - Demonstrate ownership of safety by role-modelling - Cultivate an understanding and actively caring culture for safety - Establish, manage and develop ITEC unit safety committee - Participate in and contribute to global safety team meetings - Compile, maintain and improve safety documentation and monitor usage - Support the development, review and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans Safety risk management: - Ensure use of and continually improve Lab / Test tower safety risk management processes, tools and practices - Produce safety data, ensure accuracy and develop indicators. Evaluate and report performance - Perform and manage safety / 5s audits to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks and deviations - Assist Lab Incharges in safety audits/visits and continually improve the auditing process - Manage incident investigations and continually improve the investigation process - Drive corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement of safety promotion - Ensure the development and maintenance of safety competences in ITEC unit - Establish, maintain and improve safety communication processes, programmes and materials - Represent KONE to external stakeholders in safety matters under the direction of the ITEC unit head Professional requirements: - Engineering degree in Mechanical / Electrical - 10+ years of working experience in safety, preferably in Unit level, KTI Lab & Test Tower - Lean and Six sigma certification - Safety Auditor training/certification - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - Recognized professional qualification in safety - Good knowledge of applicable safety regulations - Safety management system, tools and certifications experience - Project and change management experience Read more on
