Primary purpose of job

Responsible for:

• Deliver British Safety Council Process Safety Management (PSM) products and services in accordance with internal standards and processes.
• Ownership of planning and managing the delivery and quality assurance functions to ensure that PSM products and services are delivered to the highest possible standards.
• Responsible for delivering day-to-day business functions such as (not limited to) scoping, quality assurance and standardisation processes, internationally and across delivery partners.
• Supporting clients in implementing PSM through consultancy, training and assessments, potentially through deployment or semi-deployment models.
• Support provision of appropriate technical support and guidance for sales and operations personnel as required.
• Delivering BSC's OHS audit, consultancy and training products and services.
• Support the Head of PSM in the preparation or delivery of strategic activity / projects, support the development, maintenance, marketing and sales of PSM products and services.
• Keep delivery partners updated on all aspects of delivery, standardisation and QA.
• This role may involve prolonged travelling and service delivery cover at short notice.
• Ensure full-time employees' utilisation.

Duties and key responsibilities

• To deliver British Safety Council PSM products / services as required.
• Support Sales team from technical inputs perspectives while interfacing the potential clients.
• To support QA review of PSM deliveries as per operational process.
• To manage the PSM Support inbox, scoping and all queries to and from Sales and Ops teams.
• Deliver BSC's range of OHS products and services to meet internal delivery utilisation requirements.
• To proactively ensure strong cross-functional collaboration with technical and nontechnical functions.
• Own an individual target for new client acquisition / business development, with support available for completing any internal sales administration processes.
• To support the root cause investigation and corrective actions relating to complaints and/or appeals arising from PSM deliveries as directed by Head of PSM.
• To manage the recruitment, induction and ongoing training of audit and consultancy personnel as directed by Head of Audit and Consultancy.
• To provide technical support for PSM product development and maintenance projects as directed by Head of PSM.
• To advise and support (including attending client meetings as appropriate) sales and operational personnel to ensure appropriate scoping and resourcing of PSM services.
• Engage with Operations and Associates and make decisions where support is needed.
• Support Head of PSM in development of new products.
• To support the maintenance of the individual products within the portfolio to ensure: (i)they remain technically valid; (ii) opportunities for improvement are identified (iii) delivery methods and working practices are efficient (iv) future revenue streams are maximized.
• To support the liaison with internal departments to promote product and service awareness and provide technical input to tendering bids as required.
• To ensure efficiency as well as adequacy of all processes working with internal and external stakeholders including operations, sales and IT.
• ​Optimum use of software and IT to achieve this where possible.
• Maintain professional competency and CPD requirements as appropriate.

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience of competencies in PSM protocols and processes
• Breadth and depth of understanding of the health and safety sector and PSM sector in Particular
• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety
• Industry experience in an operational or leadership capacity
• Evidence of strong IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Excel
• Evidence of strong verbal and written (inc. report writing) influencing and communication skills.
• Technical knowledge and experience in PSM.
• Exposure to Behavioural Safety and Safety Culture Change.
• Basic knowledge of Wellbeing.

Experience

• Suitable experience (10+ years minimum) implementing PSM and OHSMS management systems
• Demonstrable experience of client relationship management
• Experience in a PSM and safety, health and environmental consultancy role
