Job Title: IAM Okta Engineer

Location: Remote

Shift Timing: Night Shift (8 PM – 2/3 AM IST)

Notice Period: Immediate Joiner Preferred

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled IAM (Identity and Access Management) Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Okta and SailPoint (or similar IGA tools). The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable IAM solutions to manage user access, ensure compliance, and protect organizational data assets.

This role requires technical expertise, automation mindset, and a proactive approach toward improving IAM security posture and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using industry best practices.
  • Configure and manage SSO (Single Sign-On) applications, SAML, OIDC, and SCIM integrations in Okta.
  • Oversee complete user lifecycle management including provisioning, de-provisioning, and access controls.
  • Administer and maintain Okta and SailPoint environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Automate repetitive IAM tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Conduct periodic IAM security audits and compliance assessments (NIST, SOX, SOC2, GDPR).
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and IAM process guides.
  • Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for identity-related incidents and requests.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Application teams to integrate IAM with various business systems.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and implement preventive controls.
  • Support global IAM operations on a rotating shift schedule (24x5 coverage) after 3 months of joining.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Okta administration, including advanced configurations (OIDC/OAuth, SCIM, Okta Workflows, APIs, cross-tenant federation).
  • 3+ years of experience in IGA platforms such as SailPoint (IdentityIQ/IdentityNow) or similar tools.
  • Deep understanding of IAM concepts, frameworks, and security standards.
  • Experience in automation scripting (PowerShell / Python / Bash).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks – NIST, ITIL, SOX, SOC2, GDPR, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently during night shift hours and collaborate across global teams.
  • Relevant IAM certifications (Okta Certified Professional, SailPoint Certified IdentityNow Engineer, etc.) are a plus.
  • Exposure to CIAM (Customer IAM) systems will be an added advantage.
