Position: Store Manager

Department: Stores & Inventory

Reporting to: Operations / Procurement / Project Head

Role Purpose

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall store operations including material receipt, storage, issuing, stock control, documentation, inventory accuracy and coordination with procurement, accounts and project/site teams to ensure timely material flow.

Key Responsibilities1. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Maintain accurate stock levels for all materials.
  • Ensure proper inward & outward material movement.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
  • Maintain stock ledgers, registers, and inventory software.
  • Monitor slow-moving & non-moving materials.

2. Material Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive materials as per purchase orders.
  • Inspect materials for quality & quantity.
  • Verify supplier delivery challans & invoices.
  • Raise discrepancies to suppliers/procurement team.

3. Issuing Materials

  • Issue materials to production and project sites as per approval.
  • Maintain proper documentation for every material movement.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and project managers.

4. Documentation & Systems

  • Maintain GRN, stock entry, daily inward-outward records.
  • Ensure accurate data entry into ERP/software.
  • Maintain filing of challans, GRN, purchase orders, and invoices.

5. Coordination

  • Coordinate with Purchase Department for replenishment.
  • Liaise with Accounts for invoice verification.
  • Support audit requirements for stock.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure safe, clean and organized storage area.
  • Follow statutory / company standards for material handling.

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Strong knowledge of store & warehouse operations.
  • Basic knowledge of purchase & supply chain processes.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP / Stock software.
  • Good communication & reporting skills.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate / Diploma (Preferred)
  • 3 to 8 years experience in Store/Warehouse management
  • Manufacturing / Construction / Fabrication / Engineering industry preferred
