Role & responsibilities

Designation : Engineer Maintenance

Department : Machine Maintenance

Shifts : Rotational

Working Days: 6 Days/ Week

Work Location: Bangalore

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Should attend the duty on time, follow discipline and wear uniform.

  2. Report to the team leader & follow the instructions.

  3. Collect the tool box key & check the log for any pending work left in the previous shift & relieve him.

  4. Communicate the shift status of all the machinery at the beginning of each shift to the maintenance group.

  5. Continue the pending work of previous shift which is urgent.

  6. Check the previous days report for feedback/instructions & act accordingly.

  7. Any breakdown calls from productions to be attended immediately & should be completed before leaving the shift.

  8. Before attending the breakdown, check the status of the machine & inform to the seniors.

  9. After the completion of the breakdown, check for trail & fill the pilot report, and report in the daily log.

  10. In case if any major breakdown is not completed, it is to be communicated to the next shift with all details.

  11. Check the Daily PM checklist of every machine and update.

  12. Conduct the PM as per the schedule and report.

  13. During PM any changes or performance variance observed inform immediately to maintenance manager.

  14. Enter the work carried out on each & every machine in the respective machine log book.

  15. Spares & consumables can be collected on producing requisition slip to stores duly signed by team leader.

  16. Any spares/consumables required or nearing depletion are to be reported in the daily log.

  17. Use appropriate tools during maintenance & keep it in tool storage box safely after work.

  18. Any loss or breakage of tool is shift engineers responsibility

  19. All the shift activities are to be documented in the shift log.

  20. Follow the work safety rules strictly & ensure no incidents.

  21. Keep the machine manuals in cupboard safely after use.

  22. In case of any criticality inform maintenance manager immediately and take guidance also do not tamper the machine.

  23. In case of any accidents inform maintenance manager immediately.

  24. Read the machine manuals, work instructions thoroughly & then carryout the work.

  25. Should attend the meetings & trainings conducted by the department.

  26. Any leave or weekly off are taken with prior notice. & the duty should be continued by the reliever.

Accountability and Measures:

Job performance will be measured through, BSC Objectives / KPI and through performance appraisal.

Experience, Skills and Qualification:

  1. Qualification: Diploma/ BE in automobile engineering, mechanical Engineering, ECE & EEE

  2. Experience: 3 years of experience in maintenance
