Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer – Solar Projects is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control and quality assurance systems across all phases of solar power project development—from design through construction and commissioning. This role ensures that all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company specifications, and supports continuous improvement in quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Planning & Assurance:

Develop and implement project-specific Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality control procedures.

Review design documents, technical specifications, and vendor submittals for quality and compliance.

Ensure that all project documentation complies with ISO 9001 and relevant solar industry standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, UL, IEEE).

  • Construction & Installation Oversight:

Conduct quality inspections on PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, cabling, and balance of system (BoS) components.

Monitor workmanship and material quality during civil, electrical, and mechanical installations.

Witness critical construction activities and testing procedures (e.g., insulation resistance testing, string commissioning).

  • Audit & Reporting:

Prform internal and external quality audits on contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Maintain non-conformance reports (NCRs) and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Prepare and submit regular quality performance reports to stakeholders.

  • Supplier & Vendor Quality:

Evaluate and qualify suppliers and contractors based on quality standards.

Oversee factory acceptance tests (FATs) and pre-shipment inspections as required.

  • Handover & Documentation:

Ensure all quality documentation is compiled and handed over in accordance with turnover package requirements.

Support project commissioning and final quality walk-downs prior to project handover.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3–7 years of experience in quality assurance/control in solar or renewable energy projects.
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC standards, ISO 9001, and solar industry codes.
  • Familiarity with solar technologies: PV modules, inverters, trackers, BoS, SCADA.
  • Experience using QA software tools and digital inspection/reporting platforms.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and QA procedures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with utility-scale solar project lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and reporting abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹300, ₹540,000.00 per year
