Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator / Developer to support query development, maintenance, and execution in our production environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in database development and administration, who are eager to expand their expertise in enterprise-scale SQL Server systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
  • Support day-to-day database operations, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Manage and monitor scheduled database jobs, backups, and data refresh processes.
  • Collaborate with developers and business users to optimize query performance and maintain data integrity.
  • Assist in schema design, data normalization, and index management to support efficient data access.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain version control for database scripts.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and ensure transactional integrity in production environments.
  • Maintain database documentation, including structure, stored procedures, and operational guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, including writing and debugging complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization.
  • Experience maintaining production databases, with attention to data integrity and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with database deployment processes and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Basic understanding of indexing, query optimization, and transactional consistency.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • Exposure to performance monitoring tools and basic query tuning techniques.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, or other SQL Server-related services.
  • Familiarity with automation scripts or PowerShell for database maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of Azure SQL or cloud-based database environments.
  • Interest in learning advanced topics such as performance tuning, data architecture, and scalability.
