Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MySQL DBA to manage and maintain our MySQL database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of database systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers.
  • Monitor database performance and conduct regular tuning.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Security & Compliance:

  • Manage user access and permissions.
  • Implement database security protocols and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Performance Optimization:

  • Optimize SQL queries and database structures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Innovation & Leadership:

  • Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to process improvements.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in database management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL architecture, replication, clustering, and high-availability setups.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Bash).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with VM based MySQL deployments.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM).
