About the Team

The role requires excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and additional exposure to Postgres or MS SQL Server is a plus.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of database infrastructure, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Resolve performance issues and conduct root cause analysis.
• Maintain proactive communication with line managers and stakeholders regarding progress and challenges.
• Research and recommend new or alternative database technologies.
• Review and propose upgrades or changes to database infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Technical Architects and senior developers to provide design guidance and ensure alignment with operational standards.
• Perform maintenance and bug fixes on existing database infrastructure.
• Lead efforts in database infrastructure improvements and modernization.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Deep understanding of database infrastructure, maintenance, administration, and design.
• Proficient in root cause and impact analysis of database-related issues.
• Skilled in troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues.
• Experience in database infrastructure installations and upgrades.
• Ability to research and evaluate new or alternative database technologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

• Proven experience administering MySQL RDBMS.
• Expertise in backup and recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of high availability and replication setups.
• Experience with MySQL patching in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and SQL.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure database cloud environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Exposure to Postgres and MS SQL Server is a plus.
