Responsibilities for Purchasing Manager

Manage the purchasing process including the buying, selling and distributions

aspects of the company.

Review new project proposals for the company.

Communicate with the marketing and Design team to effect working strategies.

Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance

Implement improvements to existing purchasing processes and delivery systems.

Handle contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers

Identify ideal suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability.

Qualifications for Purchasing Manager

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

Prior experience working in the purchasing department in the Turnkey Interior /

Construction industry required.

Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends

Working knowledge of negotiation techniques in the industry

Exceptional interpersonal and social skills to build a good rapport.

Positive and professional demeanor.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Great team player

Flexible to travel and work long hours as necessary.

Develops a purchasing strategy.

Reviews and processes purchase orders.

Manages other members of the purchasing team.

Maintains records of goods ordered and received.

Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers.

Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.

Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.

Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.

Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfilment of orders.

Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.

Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply

needs.

Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.

Keeps up with trends in procurement.

Travels to vendor locations.

Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and

implementation, as necessary.
