Engineering Operations is a global engineering operations function (remit across India, US, UK). This role will be the backbone of our engineering organization, ensuring smooth execution of resource management, demand forecasting, hiring, upskilling, and talent management across geographies.

The ideal candidate will combine senior-leader presence and negotiation skills with operational discipline and the ability to create predictability in ambiguous environments. Must have an understanding of IT services/consulting dynamics, enabling engineering teams to scale effectively while maintaining high utilization and skill readiness.

Roles & Responsibilities

Resource Management & Demand Forecasting

  • Maintain a global demandsupply dashboard across projects and geographies.
  • Partner with Delivery & Sales teams to forecast demand and highlight resourcing risks.
  • Drive resource allocation decisions, balancing skills, availability, and cost optimization.

Hiring & Upskilling Operations

  • Translate demand forecasts into a hiring plan, working closely with Talent Acquisition.
  • Track time-to-hire vs. project demand and escalate risks proactively.
  • Coordinate upskilling & certification initiatives aligned to competency needs (AI, Digital Experience, Integration, QE).
  • Drive bench utilization and cross-skilling programs to ensure readiness.

Talent Management & Skill Repository

  • Own the engineering skill repository up-to-date records of employee skills, certifications, and project experience.
  • Manage a consultant & CV repository for client-facing use.
  • Build talent heatmaps to identify strengths, gaps, and attrition risks.
  • Enable talent mapping for reskilling and internal mobility.

Operational Excellence

  • Define and enforce standard processes for resourcing, CV readiness, and skills updates.
  • Leverage automation & reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) to reduce manual effort.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly operational reviews for leadership on utilization, demand/supply, skills pipeline and hiring health.
  • Coordinate seamlessly across global time zones and business units.

Key Metrics of Success

  • Resource utilization % (overall & by competency).
  • Demand vs. Supply gaps (skill-level forecasting).
  • Hiring pipeline health (open vs. filled positions, time-to-staff).
  • Upskilling coverage & certification % in critical skills.
  • Bench-to-billable conversion time.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years in engineering operations, resource management, or workforce planning, ideally within an IT services/consulting organization.
  • Strategic thinker and a strong negotiator w
  • Familiarity with engineering skill sets & certifications (e.g., AI/ML, Snowflake, Databricks, MuleSoft, IIB, QE tools).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across geographies and functions.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or equivalent analytics tools.
  • Strong organizational discipline, data-driven mindset, and ability to enforce process rigor.
