Reports To: Project Manager / QA-QC Head

Experience Required: Minimum 4 years on-site as QC Engineer

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:

The MEP QC Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, compliance, and integrity of HVAC, Utilities, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing systems in construction projects. This position ensures that installations meet industry standards, design specifications, and project requirements, contributing to the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse project drawings to develop and implement quality assurance plans.
  • Draft, revise, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Method Statements (WMS) for quality control.
  • Operate and calibrate inspection instruments such as gauges, micrometres, tachometers, anemometers, and clamp meters.
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, clients, and third-party inspectors for routine inspections and approvals.
  • Maintain accurate QC documentation and inspection records on Promasch in the Documents section and on IMIR Trackers.
  • Conduct site surveys before installation of HVAC, Utilities, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems.

  • Perform testing activities including:

  • CFM Tests

  • Duct Smoke Tests

  • Piping Leak Tests

  • Approve incoming materials based on material specifications mentioned in the PO and quality standards; and check if all required dispatch documents, including Material test certificates, are received and coordinate with vendors for continuous improvement.

  • Prepare IMIRs and get them approved by the client within the stipulated timelines.
  • Prepare & Share quality control data for regulatory and project compliance with PM and Management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience as a QC Engineer in MEP works on construction sites.
  • In-depth understanding of MEP systems, industry standards, local/international codes, and safety regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with QC instruments: Gauges, Micrometres, Tachometers, Anemometers, Clamp Meters, etc.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
