We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled PLC Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for our new Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in PLC and HMI/SCADA programming for custom machinery, from concept to final commissioning. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial automation, including servo and drive systems, safety protocols, and effective integration with mechanical and electrical designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to understand machine functionality, system specifications, and customer requirements for new SPM projects.
  • Design and develop PLC programs from scratch for new SPMs using ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams.
  • Develop HMI/SCADA interfaces for operator control, system visualization, and data acquisition.
  • Integrate various hardware components, including PLCs, servo and stepper drives, VFDs, sensors, actuators, and industrial robots.
  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and validation of new machinery at customer facilities, which may involve travel.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system faults during and after commissioning to minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical training and support to end-users and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure all programming and systems adhere to relevant industry and safety standards.
