About the Opportunity

A healthcare provider operating in the primary and secondary care sector, delivering community-focused general medicine services and acute inpatient care in rural Maharashtra. The role supports outpatient clinics, inpatient wards and emergency stabilization for adult medical patients.

Role: Consultant Physician - General Medicine (MD/DNB)

Role & Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality outpatient and inpatient medical care for adult patients, including initial assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up.
  • Lead daily ward rounds, coordinate admissions and discharges, and maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment plans.
  • Stabilize and manage acute medical emergencies in coordination with nursing and emergency teams, including basic critical care interventions and escalation when required.
  • Prescribe and optimise evidence-based pharmacotherapy and basic procedural interventions as indicated (e.g., pleural tap, ascitic tap where trained).
  • Collaborate with laboratory, radiology and allied services to ensure timely investigations and diagnostics; interpret results and incorporate into management plans.
  • Contribute to clinical governance: participate in morbidity reviews, infection-control practices, and quality-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • MBBS with MD or DNB in General Medicine (or equivalent specialist qualification).
  • Registration with the relevant State Medical Council (current and valid).
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in adult inpatient and outpatient general medicine (post-specialisation experience preferred).
