Role & responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Monthly Closing
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processing and preparation of financial statements (P&L, BS, CF)
- Management of monthly closing processes (journal entries, fixed assets, accounts payable/receivable reconciliation, inventory variance processing)
- Preparation of consolidation packages for group consolidation and submission to the group
Budget and Forecast Management
- Support for annual budget preparation (in collaboration with business unit leaders) Monthly/quarterly performance comparison, variance analysis, and reporting to management
- Cash flow management and funding plan support
Tax and Statutory Compliance
- GST (Goods & Services Tax) calculation, filing, and monitoring Preparation of transfer pricing documentation and coordination with external advisors Statutory filings (corporate tax, annual returns, etc.) and interactions with tax authorities
Audit Support and Internal Controls
- Practical support for external and internal audits (document preparation, responding to auditor inquiries)
- Development, implementation, and improvement of internal controls and accounting policies
Management of corrective actions for identified issues.
Back Office(General Affairs, Human, Resources, Administration) Supervision of payroll processing (Serves as liaison when outsourced)
- Onboarding/offboarding procedures, management of labor-related documents, basic compliance with labor laws
- Office management (contracts, employee benefits, supplies, vendor management)
Executive Support
- Assistance with preparing executive materials (e.g., board packs), scheduling coordination, and travel arrangements Preparation of financial presentation materials for management meetings
System Implementation & Business Improvement
- PM/Lead for ERP/Accounting System Implementation or Improvement Projects
- Business Process Design, Promotion of RPA/Automation Implementation Business Improvement
Team Management
- Developing subordinates, evaluating performance, assisting with hiring, assigning tasks, and managing productivity
- Collaborating with cross-functional team
Key Result Areas with Performance Indicators
Timeliness of Monthly Closing
Monthly closing completion date (number of days until finalization of financial statements for Board of Directors reporting)
Accuracy of Financial Reporting
Number of accounting adjustments/revisions (including material adjustments/restatements) per period
Audit & Compliance Response
Number of material findings in external audits (e.g., material risks)
Tax (GST/TP) Compliance
Timeliness compliance rate (GST/corporate tax filings, etc.) and number of penalties incurred
Budget/Forecast Accuracy
Variance between actuals and budget (Deviation rate for key P&L items)
Cost/Office Operations
Administrative expenses (G&A) vs. budget
Preferred candidate profile
Accounting Standards Basic understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and IFRS
Accounting Operations Experience with monthly/annual closing and preparing consolidated packages
Tax GST processing/filing, understanding of Transfer Pricing and documentation experience
Audit Support Practical experience with external and internal audits
ERP/Accounting Software Operational experience with Oracle NetSuite, SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar
Excel (advanced pivot tables/functions/macros) and data analysis skills
Experience
- 7 to 10+ years of practical experience in accounting/finance (including at least 3 years of management experience)
- Experience handling multiple roles (accounting + general affairs + HR, etc.) at small/medium-sized or growing companies is desirable
Behavioral/Management
- Multitasking management skills, prioritization ability Proactivity, problem-solving skills, drive for operational improvement Cross-cultural communication (Business English conversation required, local language preferred)
- Coordination skills with stakeholders (Headquarters, external advisors, tax authorities) High ethical standards and confidentiality awareness
