Key Responsibilities
1.
Reinsurance Accounting

  • Manage all aspects of reinsurance accounting including:
  • Premiums receivable/payable.
  • Claims recoveries and settlements.
  • Treaty and facultative reinsurance entries.
  • Reconciliation of reinsurance accounts with reinsurers and brokers.
  • Ensure compliance with IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) guidelines for reinsurance.
  • Assist in preparing reinsurance financial statements and reports.

2.
GST Compliance

  • File monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).
  • Reconcile GSTR-2A/2B with input tax credit (ITC) in books.
  • Ensure proper GST treatment for insurance and reinsurance transactions.
  • Manage GST audits and departmental queries.

3.
General Accounting & Compliance

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Preparation of financial statements as per Ind AS/IFRS.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.

4.
Taxation & Reporting

  • Support in direct and indirect tax compliance.
  • Prepare MIS reports related to tax and reinsurance.
  • Assist in transfer pricing documentation if applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
    qualified.
  • 13+ years of experience in
    insurance
    ,
    reinsurance
    , or
    financial services
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    reinsurance
    structures (treaty, facultative, proportional, non-proportional).
  • Expertise in
    GST laws
    , filings, and compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting standards and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.).
  • Analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Excel and MIS reporting skills.
