What You'll Do
You're not here to post jobs on LinkedIn and wait for applications. You're here to
hunt down the best talent in India
and convince them that this is the most important thing they could be working on.
Your job is simple but brutal:
- Find people who don't need to be convinced to work hard.
You're looking for builders, problem-solvers, and people who get obsessed with making things work. - Hold an absurdly high bar.
Most candidates won't make it. That's the point. You say no to 99% of people — not because you're mean, but because you know what great looks like. - Source relentlessly.
GitHub, Twitter, niche Slack/Discord communities, competitor companies, referrals, conferences — wherever the best people hide, you find them. - Sell the mission.
Top talent has options. You need to make them
want
to solve this problem with us, not just take another job. - Own the entire pipeline.
From first message to offer signed, you're responsible. You move fast, you don't let people ghost, and you close hard.
Who You Are
You have these non-negotiables:
- You've recruited for startups or high-growth companies
where the bar was unforgiving. Bonus if you've worked at or with companies known for brutal hiring standards (Stripe, Zerodha, Razorpay, Flipkart early days, YC companies that scaled fast). - You can tell the difference between "good on paper" and "actually exceptional."
You've seen enough talent to know when someone is truly different. - You're a hustler.
You don't wait for inbound. You hunt. You're creative about sourcing and you treat recruiting like high-stakes sales. - You push back.
When a hiring manager wants to lower the bar or settle, you fight them. You care more about building a legendary team than filling seats quickly. - You move with urgency.
You hate slow processes. You respond to candidates same-day. You know that great people get snapped up fast.
You probably have:
- 2–5+ years recruiting for technical or product roles (engineering, product, design, ops)
- Experience hiring in Bangalore's startup ecosystem
- A track record of closing hard-to-get candidates
- Strong opinions on what makes someone great (and you can articulate them)
