Job Description

A Medical Device Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling medical technologies, including surgical instruments, diagnostic tools, and capital equipment, to healthcare providers such as hospitals, physicians, nurses, and administrators. The role requires developing deep product knowledge and using a consultative sales approach to educate clients on the clinical and operational value of the devices. Responsibilities include building and managing client relationships, conducting product demonstrations and clinical presentations, negotiating pricing and contracts within approved guidelines, and supporting product implementation and staff training. The representative often attends surgical procedures or clinical environments to assist with product usage as needed.

Required skills include strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical workflows, proficiency in CRM systems, understanding healthcare procurement and regulatory processes, and persuasive communication and consultative selling abilities. The position typically requires a bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, nursing, or a related field. Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical sales and familiarity with clinical environments are preferred. Certification such as Certified Medical Sales Professional (CMSP) is recommended but not mandatory. The role demands resilience, adaptability, and strong performance under pressure, often involving travel within a defined sales territory.
