Peer Review Manager

  1. Manage PRAs and PRRs workload within 24 hours of receipt (excluding any weekend and holiday), as assigned by the reporting manager.

  2. Efficiently manage daily work allocation in the team.

  3. Respond to all email inquiries/requests from clients, authors, reviewers, editors, or internal staff within 24 hours of receipt (excluding any weekend and holiday).

  4. Pro-actively and clearly communicate with reporting manager if there are any challenges with managing assigned workload with PRAs and PRRs, processing tasks on peer review management sites, troubleshooting any unusual task scenarios, understanding any emails etc.

  5. Maintain Capacity Vs. Workload projections and share periodic updates with the reporting manager.

  6. Raise any hiring needs at least 3 months in advance with the reporting manager.

  7. Build an effective tracking mechanism for PRAs and PRRs KPIs, monitor them regularly, and share periodic reports with the reporting manager and clients, as needed.

  8. Streamline processes for journals peer review and adopt best practices.

  9. Ensure clear communication with all internal and external stakeholders with regards to any new journal transitions, updates in journal workflows, progress made to enhance peer review health of journals etc.

  10. Immediately discuss with the reporting manager any communication that is tense and volatile in nature, or any positive words and praise received from clients, authors, reviewers, or editors.

  11. Assist reporting manager with any projects, additional assignments, or initiatives, as needed.

  12. Keep the PRAs and PRRs motivated and equipped to take ownership of the assigned workload and responsibilities.

    1. Suggest and implement newer technologies, automations, and build efficiencies in the process, where appropriate.
