Role Overview
The Payroll Executive will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, statutory compliance, payroll reconciliations, and coordination with HR & finance teams. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with payroll software/HRMS.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payroll Processing
- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll for all employees.
- Validate attendance, leaves, overtime, variable pay, and incentives.
- Maintain accurate employee records including joining, exit, transfers, and salary revisions.
- Ensure timely disbursement of salaries.
2. Statutory Compliance
- Handle PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Bonus, Gratuity and other statutory deductions.
- Prepare and file statutory returns (PF, ESI challans, PT, TDS etc.).
- Keep track of latest statutory and tax-related updates.
3. HRMS & Documentation
- Manage HRMS payroll module and ensure data accuracy.
- Generate payslips, salary statements, and payroll MIS reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure storage of payroll data.
4. Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Auditors for payroll-related data.
- Address employee queries related to salary, payslips, deductions, and income tax.
- Assist in yearly activities like full & final settlement, increments, and tax declarations.
5. Audit & Reporting
- Conduct monthly payroll reconciliation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required data.
- Prepare monthly payroll MIS, variance analysis, and cost sheets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, HR, or related field.
- 4–10 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software (SAP, GreytHR, Keka, Zoho, etc.).
- Good MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, basic formulas).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
