Job Responsibilities
The Site Supervisor's duties typically fall into three main areas: Safety, Operations, and Quality.
- Safety Management:
- Enforce site safety procedures and regulations strictly (e.g., use of PPE, safe working at heights).
- Conduct daily tool-box talks and safety briefings.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards and conduct regular site inspections.
- Ensure all personnel have necessary safety training.
- Operational Oversight:
- Supervise and manage on-site labor forces, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate daily work activities, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure project timelines are met.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Resolve immediate site problems or unexpected issues as they arise.
- Manage the delivery and storage of materials and equipment.
- Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all work is carried out to the required quality standards and specifications.
- Inspect and check the work of tradespeople and subcontractors.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors, and clients/consultants.
- Maintain accurate daily site records, progress reports, and logs.
