About The Role
G2 is seeking a creative, data-driven storyteller to join our SEO content team. As an SEO Content Specialist, you'll craft high-impact content that educates, engages, and builds trust with our audience of software buyers and professionals. You'll play a key role in driving awareness and demand through strategic, research-backed content that reflects G2's position as the world's leading software marketplace.
This role goes beyond writing for search. It's about creating valuable, authoritative content that resonates with real readers, supports marketing and revenue goals, and reflects G2's unique voice in the SaaS ecosystem. You'll collaborate across teams to produce content that helps our audience make smarter software decisions and enables brands to succeed on G2.
This position reports to an SEO Content Manager.
In This Role, You Will:
- Develop strategic content: Research and produce high-quality, data-informed articles, guides, and thought leadership pieces that align with user intent, audience needs, and business goals.
- Write with authority and clarity: Produce 8 to 10 long-form pieces per month (typically 3000 words), balancing depth, clarity, and originality across SaaS, tech, and B2B topics.
- Optimize content for visibility: Incorporate SEO best practices with a focus on topical authority, content structure, and audience value, not just keywords.
- Stay up to date on evolving search models: Apply SEO principles along with optimizing for GEO and AEO, to ensure content performs across both traditional and AI-driven discovery channels.
- Apply data and feedback: Use performance metrics, competitive research, and insights to refine content and improve results over time.
- Support content distribution: Use social media to extend the reach of your content through owned and earned channels.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with editors, SEO specialists, research analysts, and product managers to ensure every piece of content reflects G2's messaging framework.
Minimum Qualifications:

- 2–4 years of experience in SEO content creation or B2B SaaS writing.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to write engaging, high-quality content that drives measurable results, ideally in the SaaS, IT, marketing, or tech spaces.
- Familiarity with modern SEO principles (topic clusters, E-E-A-T, content refresh strategy, etc.) and an understanding of content analytics.
- Experience using SEO research tools, such as SEMrush and Ahrefs, and analytics tools like GA/GSC.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or similar.
- Understanding of content management systems, HubSpot preferred.
- Basic graphic design knowledge.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of the Learning Hub. - Expert grasp of AP style editorial standards and American English.
- Basic knowledge of how AI and LLMs influence search and discovery.
- Excellent project management and communication skills with the ability to take an idea from brief to publication independently.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines.
