About the Team – Portfolio and Business development
Portfolio Management and Business Development Team is a key part of the core teams at Zydus Lifesciences. This group plays a critical role in identifying and assessing new business opportunities, driving strategic initiatives, and aligning them with long-term company goals. It also supports inorganic growth through licensing, mergers, acquisitions across diverse therapeutic areas and markets and involves collaborations across multiple teams within the larger organization.
Role Overview:
The Manager, Business Development and Portfolio is responsible for conducting comprehensive product analyses, identifying products for internal nomination, collaboration opportunities with external partners, and preparing technical reports to support portfolio and business development initiatives. This role involves monitoring regulatory activities, evaluating market trends, and contributing to long term goals of portfolio and business development for revenue targets and capability building across therapy areas and product categories.

Key Responsibilities:
- Product overview and Lead Identification:
Prepare product overview reports to identify potential leads for internal nomination and collaboration opportunities. Analyze trends from various data sources covering market data for sales and volume, FDA datasets, Clinical trials and provide actionable insights to the team. Support the team in collaboration projects working with cross functional teams and facilitating he projects at various stages from due diligence to deal closure.
- Management discussions:
- Prepare comprehensive reports on market trends, opportunity areas, prepare long term revenue forecasts to facilitate discussion with higher management. Regular updates on project progress to facilitate partner discussions
- Track and analyze disruptive events:
Monitor drug shortages, recall events, regulatory actions, disruptive events and newly published regulatory guidelines. Perform impact analyses of regulatory changes on product strategies.
- Trade shows and industry events:
Support the team for organizing trade events like CPHI, DCAT including lead identification, product opportunity evaluation, meeting scheduling and agenda preparation and other logistical support.

Core Competencies
Qualification and experience:
- Master's degree in pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant industry experience of 6-8 years.
Functional Expertise:
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking.
- Excellent data processing and analytics skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including legal, R&D, regulatory, and Marketing.
Behavioral:
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and result-oriented.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and drive consensus.
Travel Requirements
- The role is based out of the Zydus Corporate Office in Ahmedabad and may involve domestic and international travel, as per business needs.
